Orville Thie
Orville Paul Thie, 77, Cincinnati, passed away Sept. 26, 2019.
He was born Oct. 11, 1941, in Batesville (Huntersville), Indiana, the son of Orville Marion and Thelma (nee Orr) Thie.
He was the loving husband to Jeanne (nee Metz) for 56 years; a loving father to Michaele Birch and Paula (Robert) Wood; cherished grandfather to Rochell, Miranda, Jacob and Jordan; dear brother to Phyllis Miller, David and the late Elaine Eisert, along with many nieces and nephews.
Even though he lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, for almost 60 years, his heart was always in Indiana.
He loved to come back every year for the Sunday school picnic and class reunions. This year would have been his 60th class reunion as a graduate of Batesville High School's Class of 1959.
His passions were hunting and fishing, adventurous boating trips and vacationing in all 50 states.
For 40 years he worked for Cincinnati Milling Machine and later at Cast Fab Technologies.
Paul grew up attending St. John's United Church of Christ, Huntersville (Batesville) and was in the confirmation Class of 1955.
He would have been so happy if you could join his family for the memorial service at St. John's Church as he will represent the fourth generation of his family there and in the church cemetery.
A public memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at St. John's United Church of Christ, 300 N. Huntersville Road, Batesville, Indiana.
Visitation is at 12:00 noon until time of service.

Some people come into our lives for a short period of time and leave. Paul was a part of Jim's life for many years and was a real friend. Our prayers go out to Jeannie and family.

Love and condolences to Aunt Jeanne and her family.
Will cherish memories of great adventures with Uncle Paul that he led his nieces and nephews on into the Great Hay Maze in the big cattle barn, and the rides in his and Jeanne's boat on the Ohio River , Rest in peace Uncle Paul
