Darryl Dwenger
Darryl (Double D) Dwenger passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2019, in Reno, Nevada, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Batesville, Indiana, on September 27, 1963. Darryl retired from the U.S. Air Force in December 2009 after serving his country for 25 years and 8 months.
His U.S. Air Force career gave him many wonderful opportunities to live overseas, where he loved to travel and where he also met his beautiful wife, Darlene (Mayfield), of 28 years in Germany. He served in the U.S. Air Force proudly as a "Dedicated Crew Chief."
He was deployed to various locations 11 times during his career, serving his country during combat situations.
Darryl loved bass fishing and golfing and he was a big fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, The Reds and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Darryl was loved by many and was the "big brother" to his younger siblings and was a great role model. He also was proud of his family and loved them deeply.
Darryl is survived by his wife Darlene; his sons Brandon (Heather) and Colton (Nichole); his daughter Bradie; two grandchildren; his wonderful parents, Joe and Betty Dwenger of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; five siblings: Gayla, Roger, Mark, Jessica (Roger) Hernandez and Joey (Colleen), all of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be at Andres-Wuestefeld Funeral Home, Dover, Indiana, on November 2, 2019, from 3pm-5pm, with a memorial service at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to P.A.W.S. of Dearborn County Humane Center.
