Wilma B. Patterson, 93, Versailles, died Jan. 9, 2016, Sun Coast Hospice Center, Pinellas Park, Florida.
The daughter of William and Carra Hill Bennett was born July 10, 1922, in Jefferson, Pennsylvania. She married Oliver Patterson Sept. 5, 1946, and he preceded her in death June 1, 2001.
Survivors include daughters Judy Sanders, Versailles, Janice (Roger) Skinner, Indianapolis, and Sue (Gus) Dunker, Madison; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and brother Ewing Bennett, Tucson, Arizona.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Robert and William Bennett and son-in-law Archie Sanders.
The Washington Hospital School of Nursing, Pennsylvania, graduate was inducted into the U.S. Army July 1, 1944, and was a first lieutenant with the 193rd General Hospital, Verdun, France, Army Nurse Corps. She received the World War II Victory and European African Middle Eastern Campaign medals. After her discharge March 8, 1946, she worked as a registered nurse at King's Daughters Hospital, Madison.
The Tyson United Methodist Church, Versailles, member, participated in the United Methodist Women's group, was a Versailles American Legion and its auxiliary; Home Art Home Ec Club; former Fortnightly Study Club, Versailles, member and enjoyed playing bridge in the Osgood and Versailles clubs.
Visitation is Jan. 15, 4-8 p.m., Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles, and Jan. 16, 10-11 a.m., followed by services officiated by Rev. Michael Dixon, Tyson United Methodist Church.
Burial is in Cliff Hill Cemetery, Versailles, with military honors by Versailles American Legion.
