Sylvia's Story

Sylvia J. Craig, Sunman, was born Nov. 2, 1929, in Franklin County, the daughter of Henry and Freda Meeker Zins. She married Jesse H. Craig Nov. 7, 1949, at St. Bridget's Church, Liberty, and he preceded her in death.
Sylvia was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered as a very giving individual who was willing to help anyone, anytime.
On Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, at the age of 86, Sylvia passed away at Ridgewood Health Campus, Lawrenceburg.
Survivors include one daughter, JoAnn (Jerry) Singer, Liberty; sons, William (Karen) Craig, Sunman, Bob Craig, Manchester, and Donald (Sandra) Craig, Bright; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Richard Hyatt, Sunman; and sister, Naomi Collyer, Columbus.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Hyatt; sisters, Marian Weiler and Arlene Moore; brother, Virgil Zins; and a great-grandson, Christopher Griffith.
Visitation is Wednesday, Sept. 7, from 4-8 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, with burial immediately following in the church cemetery.
Donations may be directed to St. Nicholas School, Sunman Volunteer Fire Department, Bright Volunteer Fire Department or for Masses.
