Ruth Kirschner, 95, Connersville, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017, at Heritage House of Connersville where she had been a resident for the past seven years.
One of seven children of Clarence and Anita Kuehn Amhrein, Ruth was born Aug. 20, 1921, in Franklin County, Indiana.
In 1944, Ruth was married to Harold M. Kirschner of Oldenburg, Indiana, and along with her husband, she farmed in Franklin County until moving in 1951 to the Kirschner Farm in Fayette County. Mr. Kirschner passed away May 12, 1975.
Ruth was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, St. Ann's Altar Society and the Fayette Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. In her leisure time, she enjoyed needlework, craft projects and was faithful in making rosaries for the church.
Survivors include three children: Ronald Kirschner, Connersville, Richard Kirschner and wife Sherry, Richmond, Indiana, and Lynn Huffman and husband Jerry, Fort Wayne, Indiana; five grandchildren: Angela Crawford, Carmel, Indiana, Amy Leuchs and husband Robert, Burlington, Vermont, Leigh Ann Fish and husband Mark, Farmington, Maine, Warren Huffman and wife Brenda, Lexington, Kentucky, and Gregory Huffman and wife Kassandrah, Fort Wayne; five great-grandchildren; three sisters: Norma Knecht, Connersville, Dorothy Boyle and husband Marvin, Live Oak, Florida, and Donna Back and husband Harold, Brookville, Indiana; and a brother, Raymond Amhrein and wife Evelyn, Brookville.
Besides her husband of over 30 years, Harold Kirschner, Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Betty Glaub and Rita Riehle; and a daughter-in-law, Paula Sue Bever Kirschner.
A rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. followed by visitation until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday, June 2, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. The Rev. Dustin Boehm will officiate. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
