Nina Grace Brockman, 83, Batesville, passed away Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, at St. Andrews Health Campus.
The daughter of Dony and Annie (Stone) Abbott was born May 27, 1933, in Ronceverte, West Virginia.
Nina married Albert Brockman Sept. 24, 1955, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Crossroads. The homemaker was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Huntersville.
She is survived by her husband; children Violet Baldwin, Batesville, Jane (Dale) Gindling, Batesville, Mary (Ken) Gibbs, Avon, Albert W. (Gina) Brockman Jr., Batesville, Evelyn Hughes, Batesville, and Chester Brockman, Batesville; along with 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Florence Fitchett, California, and Margaret Kirby, West Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Erma Surgen, Hallie Burns and Mildred Becraft; brother Thomas Abbott; two grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 24, from noon-2 p.m. with funeral services officiated by the Revs. Linda and Dennis Frische-Mouri at 2 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. John United Church of Christ cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Ripley County Humane Society or church.
