Myrwyn "Dee" Asher Renwick, 84, husband of Cleo Renwick, died July 4, 2016, at Helena Place, Port Royal, South Carolina.
He was a fine man who made a difference in many people's lives. The son of Myrwyn C. and Erma Renwick was born in Ottawa, Illinois, Oct. 21, 1931. He graduated from Ottawa High School, Beloit College and the University of Illinois with a master's degree in labor and industrial relations. The Beta Theta Phi fraternity member served in the Army during the Korean War.
Dee had a long career in the business world, retiring as a Hillenbrand Industries vice president in Batesville. He and Cleo moved to Beaufort, South Carolina, in 1982, where they bought and ran Martin's Menswear for 15 years and he served as president of Main Street Beaufort.
Dee had many interests in life and was good at all of them. Hard work, reading, jazz and classical music, golf, nature, gardening, fly fishing and fly tying, mentoring people from all walks of life and volunteering for many organizations were among his many joys.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years; daughter Lawson Lewis, Bluffton, South Carolina; grandson Elijah Walters, Hilton Head, South Carolina; daughter Carey Foster (Scott) and grandson Graham Foster, Bozeman, Montana; sister Kalah Bumba (Bob), Salinas, California; and brother-in-law Mike Woessner (Angie), Milan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother James Renwick.
There will be a memorial gathering later. Sauls Funeral Home, Bluffton, is serving the family.
