Marie A. Eisert, 89, Milan, passed away at her home with her family by her side, Monday, Feb. 20, 2017.
The daughter of Clarence and Anna (Stahle) Grossman was born Monday, Jan. 23, 1928, in Sunman.
Marie married Anthony "Tony" Eisert Aug. 7, 1948, and he preceded her in death Jan. 27, 2007.
Marie was a homemaker and teacher's aide for 21 years. She was a longtime member of St. Pius Catholic Church and later St. Charles Catholic Church, a past county trustee and was very active in stopping the expansion of the landfill. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, playing board games, quilting, traveling and spending a lot of time with her family and grandchildren.
Marie is survived by sons Terry (Ann) Eisert, Cincinnati, and Michael (Lori) Eisert, Milan, daughter Kimberly (Donald) Barton, Milan, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Kenneth Grossman and Calvin Grossman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church, Milan, with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 24, from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 25, from 9-10 a.m. at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan; a rosary will be said Friday at 4:45 p.m.
