Estill Spurlock, 75, Batesville, passed away Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
The son of M.C. and Mary Bell Davidson Spurlock was born March 22, 1940, in Clay County, Kentucky. He married Velma Davidson Nov. 11, 1972, at Negangard Corner Freewill Baptist Church.
Estill was a welder at Philco Ford and a member of the United Auto Workers. Estill belonged to Pipe Creek Freewill Baptist Church, Penntown. In his free time, he liked to hunt, fish and loved being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those surviving who will cherish Estill's memory include his wife of 43 years; children Brenda (James) Stanley, Milan, Evelyn Sunderhaus, Sunman, Beverly (Dave) Hoegeman, Sunman, Aaron (Shannon) Spurlock, Batesville, Angela Spurlock, Batesville, and Aric (Dawn) Spurlock, Batesville; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister Emily Tichner, Versailles; brothers Cecil Spurlock and Floyd Spurlock, Milan, and Elmer Spurlock, Georgetown, Ohio.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by son-in-law Butch Sunderhaus; two sisters, Mae Davidson and Geneva Simpson; and three brothers, Ray Spurlock, Alex Spurlock and Nathan Spurlock.
Friends may visit with the family Tuesday, Dec. 22, from 4-8 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, Brookville. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, and burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial donations are requested to the family.
