Elma Louise Wessel, 97, Batesville, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Arbor Grove Village, Greensburg.
Born Jan. 9, 1919, on the farm in Batesville where she was living, she was the daughter of Frank and Lillian (Holle) Bergman.
Elma married Alfred H. Wessel at St. John United Church of Christ, Huntersville, where she was also a member. She worked for the telephone company in both Batesville and Greensburg.
Elma's family was her life, and she spent many hours just being with them, especially her grandchildren. She also liked visiting with her friends.
Elma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Dave Moorman, Sinking Springs, Pennsylvania; her grandson Christopher D. Moorman, Knoxville, Tennessee; and her siblings Evelyn Behlmer, Bright, Frank Bergman Jr., Batesville, and Robert Bergman, Florida.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Holli N. Moorman and her brothers Earl and Alvin Bergman.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 7, from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. at St. John United Church of Christ, Huntersville, with Pastors Dennis and Linda Frische-Mouri officiating. Burial will follow services in St. John Cemetery.
