Carl Schebler, 81, Linefork, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at his residence. The son of the late Millard and Stella Schebler was born May 13, 1935, in Batesville.
The 1953 Batesville High School graduate served in the U.S. Army. Carl was a Batesville Casket Co. engineering support employee. He enjoyed woodworking.
Carl married Cordelia Hoog July 4, 1956, at St. Louis Catholic Church. Surviving are their three children: son Steven Schebler, Batesville, and daughters Stephanie West, Indianapolis, and Karla Bauman, Brookville. His wife Cordelia died Dec. 1, 1977.
He later married Letta Jane Roark Schebler, who survives. Also surviving are stepsons Rick, Gary, Marvin and Ronnie Halcomb, Linefork; stepdaughters Debbie Eldridge, Hallie, Barbara Polly, Guilford, Beverly Halcomb, Linefork and Marlene Cornett, Cowan; brothers Willie, Edgar, Alvin and Randy Schebler, Batesville, and Kevin Schebler, Osgood; sister Carolyn Heppener, California; along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Friday, Nov. 18, at Kingscreek Community Church, Whitesburg, Kentucky. A graveside service was Sunday, Nov. 20, at Ingrams Creek Cemetery there. Arrangements were handled by Letcher Funeral Home, Whitesburg.
