Bruce's Story

Text size

Bruce A. Beihl, 84, son of Lola Beihl (nee Zierer) and John Beihl, of Batesville, Indiana, and brother of Brent Beihl, of Berkley Springs, WV, passed away peacefully following a prolonged illness, in his home in Lithia, Florida, on July 2, 2017.
He is survived by his daughters Amanda Corbett and Sandie Chasey, five grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, his partner, Judy Woolheater, her daughter, Leila, and son, Steven, all from Florida. Also surviving are his sister, Barbara Wintz of Indiana, and his sister-in-law Lee Ann Beihl, of Berkley Springs, West Virginia.
Having counseled many clients as an attorney in estate law, Bruce prepared instructions regarding his final arrangements. To the end, he was practical, thorough, and not without dry humor. His wishes will be carried out: A "cheap" cremation, no funeral or graveside service, no flowers or requests for charitable donations, but if we must, a death notice saying "something insipid, like the usual survived by loving family..."
That family will, however, pour over old photos, share his coming of age stories, and remind each other of his many interests (from motor-cross racing and scuba diving to metaphysics and organic gardening), while lifting a glass to toast an amazing person who is now journeying on his next adventure.
