Albert's Story

Albert Ray Anness, 85, a resident of the Indiana Masonic Retirement Community, Franklin, passed to the celestial Lodge Tuesday, July 4, 2017.
A Masonic service will be conducted Monday, July 10, at 2 p.m. at the Indiana Masonic Home Kresge Chapel at Compass Park, Franklin, with a funeral service immediately following conducted by the Rev. Mark Vice. Friends may call Monday from noon until the service at Kresge Chapel.
The son of Lynn Kenneth and Clara Susan (Barr) Anness was born in Hamilton, Ohio, Sept. 14, 1931.
Al spent nearly 40 years in automotive replacement parts and repair equipment sales. He and wife Sharon resided in the Toledo, Ohio, area for 20 years until being transferred to Wisconsin, where they lived in Waukesha, a suburb of Milwaukee, until their retirement in 1999. They relocated to Batesville to be near family. They are members of New Point Christian Church, New Point, where Al served as president of the Preschool and Day Care Board of Directors, and enjoyed membership in the YMCA, Batesville.
Al is survived by his wife; sister Adeline, Norfolk, Virginia; nieces Melody (Jim) Bohrer, Guilford, Sheila (Dave) Metzcar, Florence, Kentucky, Dianne Bates, Fairfield, Ohio, and Pat (Bob) Hoffman, West Harrison; nephews Guy (Pam) Hapner, Hamilton, Ohio, and Bob (Darlene) Anness, St. Louis, Missouri; great-nieces and -nephews, as well as great-greats; cousins Dennis (JoAnne) Anness, Columbus, Suzanne Gillum, Avon, Edwin (Becky) Anness, Indianapolis, Ron (Molly) Anness, Greenfield, and Mark (Robin) Anness, New Palestine.
