Robert M. Wintz, 89, Batesville, died Friday, June 30, 2017, at his home.
Born June 5, 1928, in Batesville, he was the son of Matilda (Benz) and Joseph Wintz. He married Geraldine Goyert Jan. 11, 1958, at St. Louis Catholic Church.

He also liked working in his yard and gardening, raising mainly tomatoes and green peppers in recent years. Bob followed the Reds and enjoyed relaxing on his back porch and attending his grandkids' activities and sporting events.
He is survived by his wife; daughter Joanne (Bruce) Dickman; sons Jim (Vicky) and Sam (Denise) Wintz; and daughter-in-law Tammi Wintz, all of Batesville; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son Steve, granddaughter Laura Dickman and sisters Helen Peters, Lillian Wallpe and Margaret Moorman.
Visitation is Wednesday, July 5, from 9-11 a.m. at Weigel Funeral Home. Funeral services follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Louis Church with the Rev. Paul Walsman, OFM, officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Prell-Bland American Legion Post 271 and Batesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 183.
