Mary Louise Lunsford, 72, Batesville, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017, at St. Andrews Health Campus, Batesville.
Born Nov. 17, 1944, in Spades, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Frances (Riehle) Retzner.
She was a 1963 graduate of ICA and married Steve Lunsford in 1965 at St. Nicholas. She was a member of St. Mary's of the Rock Church Catholic Church. Mary was a homemaker but also worked for Hillcrest Country Club, Brau Haus and did some house cleaning. Mary was an avid lottery scratch-off player and Reds fan. She was always the life of the party. She was quite a joke teller, leaving everyone smiling and laughing. In fact, she could cheer people up when they were feeling down. Mary loved to dance and play cards. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma. She will be dearly missed by many.
Mary is survived by her husband Steve Lunsford; children Jean Nichols (Jon), Milan, and James Lunsford, Batesville. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Jessica and Jarrod Nichols and Samantha, Colton and Ethan Lunsford along with her great-grandchildren Jayden and Mackenzie Russell and her siblings Jo Ann Amberger, Sunman, Sister Alice Retzner , Kentucky, Louis Retzner Jr., Sunman, and John Retzner, Sunman..
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Marlene Schoettelkotte.
Visitation will be Monday, June 5, from 4-8 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, June 6, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Rock Church, St. Mary's, with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
