Mary Ann's Story
Mary Ann Jacks, age 91 of Batesville and formerly of Cincinnati, died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at the Waters of Batesville. Born March 20, 1926 in Covington, Kentucky, she is the daughter of Marguerite (Nee: Belli) and Carl Jacks. She worked 32 years in the binding department at Southeastern Publishing Company in Cincinnati.
Although probably best described as an introvert or shy, Mary Ann dearly loved animals. Over the years, she had numerous cats, dogs and especially birds as pets, including cockatoos and parakeets. She also loved music and singing. She enjoyed watching the Lawrence Welk show and sang at each of her nieces weddings.
She is survived by nieces Mimi Ryan of Batesville, Donna Duffy of Hollis, New Hampshire, Susan Arcy of Columbus, Ohio and Sharon Berger of Carmel, Indiana as well as several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister Regina (Reggie) Holtel.
Mary Ann will be cremated and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, August 25th, at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg with Rev. Carl Langenderfer O.F.M. officiating. Graveside services will be held at Noon at St. Stephens Cemetery in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky.
