Henry Miles, of Lake Placid, Florida, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018. "The Hankster" was born on July 13, 1954 in Indianapolis, to Barbara (Miller) and Robert ("Tab") Miles. In his younger years he worked in the family phone company business in Sunman, and he moved to Lake Placid in 1992 to build and operate the Royal Palms Bowling Center. He enjoyed the game of golf, sporty cars, Harley Davidson motorcycles and his cats. Hank was a loyal Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University Hoosiers fan.
Hank will be remembered by those who knew him as a truly great friend who would do anything he could to help and the kind of neighbor everyone loved. He was quick with a friendly smile, a helping hand, and if needed, a witty comeback. He was a supporter of local businesses and believed in shopping locally.
He leaves behind his loving wife Joyce, sister Cindy(Warren) Bruns, and brother Robert (Sam) Miles, nephews Chad (Jennie) and Tim (Toni)Miles, David (April), Eric (Erin), and Jon Bruns, and niece Lisa (Darrell) Lawrence, step-daughter Kelly Cairns (Rebecca Johnson) and many great nieces, great nephews, step-grandchildren, and many friends. In memory of the Hankster, please consider contributing to the Sunman Rural Fire Department, P O Box 396, Sunman IN 47041, or to a charity of your choice.
