Georgia Fae McKinney, 46, a lifelong Franklin County area resident, passed away September 23, 2017, at her home. She was born December 18, 1970, in Connersville to Robert and Ida (Hamilton) Fields. She was a Laurel High School graduate. She married James M. "Mike" McKinney on May 18, 2012 and he survives.
Georgia had worked as a CNA for 30 years in Batesville for what is now The Waters of Batesville. She attended the First Baptist Church in Laurel. She loved to hunt and fish, grow irises, be a friend to all and loved being a mother to her children.
She is survived by husband, Mike, of Laurel, her mother, Ida Fields of Connersville, sons, Keith Wilson and Joshua Wilson both of Metamora, daughters, Danielle (Mike) Beckett of Shelbyville, Josie Vail of Metamora, Katie Vail of Greensburg, Sarah Wilson of Batesville and Maggie McKinney of Metamora, brothers, Donald (Laurie) Hamilton of Connersville, Kelly (Lisa) Hokey and Michael (Tammy) Fields all of Laurel and grandchildren, Preston and Shelby Beckett.
Georgia was preceded in death by her father, a stillborn son, Andrew Wilson and a sister, Roberta Lynn Watts.
Private graveside services will be held in the Laurel North Cemetery. There will be a time of celebration on Saturday, September 30, 2017, in the fellowship hall at the First Baptist Church in Laurel beginning at noon. Revs. Everett Quinton and John Jordan will assist with services.
