Elizabeth A. "Betty" Heppner, 86, Batesville, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at The Waters of Batesville.
Born Oct. 21, 1930, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of Loretta (Lampe) and August Heppner.
Betty was a longtime familiar face behind the counter at Band Box Cleaners.
Betty preferred to keep life simple. She enjoyed watching sports and was a longtime Reds and Bengals fan. She also was a huge fan of the Game Show Network and playing cards, especially 500. Betty's favorite pastime was doing sudoku and crossword puzzles. Most mornings started with the crossword puzzle in the newspaper.
She is survived by her brothers Jim Heppner, Oldenburg, and Jerry Heppner, Batesville; sister-in-law Charlotte Heppner, Oldenburg, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers the Rev. Sylvester Heppner, O.F.M., Martin Heppner and Albert Heppner.
Visitation is Monday, Nov. 21, from 9-11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Oldenburg. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Kobak, O.F.M., officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to the Margaret Mary Health Foundation Hospice Fund. Weigel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
