Rev. Duane Loos, 78, Sunman, St. Paul United Methodist Church, Sunman, and Community United Methodist Church, Aurora, pastor died Saturday, Sept. 5.. The son of Arthur and Gladys (Wolfe) Loos was born July 30, 1937, in Brookville. He married Carolynn (Clinton) Loos June 22, 1958, and she survives.. Duane started working at Clevenger Funeral Home, Brookville, at age 12. After graduating from Brookville High School and Cincinnati School of Embalming, he worked in Indianapolis before opening Loos Funeral Home, Brookville, and purchasing Hunter Funeral Home, Hardinsburg. He served as Franklin County coroner and worked for Indiana Excise Police. Later he attended Garrett Seminary, Evanston, Illinois, and received his United Methodist Church ministerial degree. He served in various churches before coming to Sunman. He became a certified fire instructor and was an Indiana District 9 Critical Incident Stress Management Team and F&AM Masonic Lodge 475, Marengo, member.. Survivors also include daughters Nannette (Barry) Clements, Hardinsburg, and Cynthia Wineinger, Indianapolis; grandchildren Tyler (Allie) Clements, Jordon (Whitney) Clement and Brandon Clements and Jason and Taylor Wineinger; sister Pam Loos; nephew Christopher Loos; large church family; and friends.. Visitation: Sept. 9, 5-8 p.m., Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan. Masonic services: 7:45 p.m., by Milan F&AM Lodge 31. Services: Sept. 10, 11 a.m., Community United Methodist Church, 18189 Possum Ridge Road, Aurora, with United Methodist churches district superintendent Rev. Beverly Perry officiating. Entombment: Shrine of Memory Cemetery, Connersville, 2:30 p.m.. Memorials: St. Paul United Methodist, Community United Methodist Church, Sunman Fire Department or Sunman Rescue 20.
