Doris  Huber


Doris Mae Huber, 86, Connersville, passed away Monday evening, June 27, 2016, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home where she had been a resident since May 1, 2014. She was born Aug. 1, 1929, in Morris, one of three daughters of Harry and Leora Bartling Volz and was a graduate of Batesville High School. On May 9, 1953, she was married in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Morris, to Kenneth E. Huber of St. Peters, and they came to Connersville for residence in 1955. Mr. Huber passed away Oct. 6, 2010. A faithful member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the St. Gabriel Bereavement Committee. She was also a life member of the AMVETS and DAV and a member of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting and doing needle work projects. Survivors include a son, Michael Huber and wife, Kathy, Connersville; two grandchildren, Christopher and Katelyn Huber, Connersville; a sister, Pat Chaffee, Morris; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Beside her husband of 57 years, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathon Michael Huber; her parents; a sister, Virginia Niehaus; and two brothers-in-law, Albert Niehaus and Richard Chaffee. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, July 1, in St. Gabriel Church with the Rev. Dustin Boehm officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, Connersville, where the rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m. that morning. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Gabriel School Fund. Friends may visit online anytime at to sign the guest book or to leave a message of sympathy for the Huber family.
