Carol L. Bergman

November 10, 1956 - December 24, 2018

Carol L. Bergman Carol L. Bergman, age 62 of Batesville, died Monday, December 24, 2018, at her home. Born November 10, 1956, in Batesville, she is the daughter of Leona (Nee: Kinker) and Donald Meyer. She married Dennis Bergman July 17, 1976, at St. Louis Church. She was a long time administrative assistant for the Batesville Middle School.

Family was extremely important to Carol. A devoted mother, her children were her priority and later her grandchildren proved to be the greatest joy in her life. She was dearly looking forward to the newest edition to the family, grandson Brooks Grow, who is due next month. Family and friends often commented that she was an exemplary role model as a parent. She was selfless and caring, always putting others first.

Carol was also invaluable to the Batesville School Corporation. A fixture in the BMS office, she worked with seven principals over the course of her 41-year career. Her mind was like a file cabinet, cataloging over 4 decades of information and experience. She particularly found passion and pride in organizing and running the school fundraiser and working the admissions at various sporting events each season. Carol loved her job, coworkers and students and will be sorely missed.

Hobbies she enjoyed included working in the garden, puzzles and quilting. Being happily married for over 42 years, she and Denny loved to visit the walking and hiking trails at various state parks and were able to take numerous family trips, with Alaska and Disney World among their favorites.

Carol is survived by her husband Dennis; son David (Michelle) Bergman of Zionsville, Indiana; daughter Krista (Jacob) Grow of Kansas City, Missouri; son Marc Bergman of Kansas City, Kansas; brother Gary (Rosalie) Meyer, sister Cheryl (Robert) Siebert, brother Scott (Angie) Moeller, all of Batesville; grandchildren Cooper and Kinley Bergman as well as Brooks Grow who is due in January. In addition to her parents, Carol is also preceded in death by her daughter Lynn Ann Bergman and stepfather William Moeller.

Visitation is Thursday, December 27, from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday, December 28, at St. Louis Church with Rev. Stan Pondo officiating. Burial will follow in Adams Cemetery. The family requests memorials to New Horizons Rehabilitation Center or the Phi Beta Psi Sorority Cancer Research Project.

Carol was amazing! Always enjoyed talking with her. I always was impressed with how well she did her job at BMS. She reminded me of my sister and I would always kid that they were actually sisters in another world. LOL I think both of them together could have run the world. She was also an amazing mother b/c her kids were so smart and nice. Krista even helped me create my school web page many, many years ago. Just lots of good memories! Praying for your family!

I have alot of fun memories working with Carol and her sister Cheryl at the Sears Catalog Store in Batesville back in the '70's. Rest in peace, Carol. Your family and friends will miss you.

My deepest sympathy to David, Krista, and Mark. Your mother was a wonderful person who shared many of the same qualities as my mom, Kathy Schrader
