Those surviving who will cherish Alene's memory include her children: Wilma Brannan of West Lafayette, Diana (Gene) Yee of Cincinnati, Dolores (Don) Alexander of Lawrenceville, Daniel Charles (Deb) Schuman of Batesville, Arleen (Ron) Wuestefeld of St. Leon, Laura Schuman of Bright, Lisa (Randy) Broun of Cincinnati, and Michelle Shumate of Mississippi; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, William, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Stanley Knecht, Emma Oehlman, Roy Knecht and Robert Knecht; 2 great-grandchildren, Brandon Yee and Oliver Shipman; and a son-in-law, David Brannan.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. Rosary will be recited at 3:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, with Fr. Vincent Lampert officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
